Document scopes
Core classification, finished-panel reaction to fire and assembly fire resistance are different evidence scopes. [2] The tested configuration and report application limits matter. [1]
Three document scopes to record separately
Core material
Record the core product identified by the document.
Ask for separate evidence identifying the finished panel; a core document alone does not identify its facings, joints or installation.
Finished-panel reaction to fire
Record the panel product, configuration and classification document.
Ask whether the proposed form, orientation, jointing, mounting and fixings fall within the stated application. [1]
Assembly fire resistance
Record the assembly identified in the relevant document and the project evidence requirement.
Keep the resistance evidence separate from a reaction-to-fire label; send configuration differences to the project reviewer. [2]
Before confirming an order
Ask the supplier to identify the document for the offered configuration. Record mismatches and missing documents as open questions. Send those questions to the project reviewer before confirming the order. This checklist records purchasing information; it does not approve the design or state that ZY holds a particular classification.
Illustrative comparison
Fictional comparison: offer A names a core material; offer B gives a finished-panel report reference. These are different document descriptions. Request the covered product and configuration for both, rather than choosing a winner from the headings.
Turn a discrepancy into a supplier question
For each report reference, write the offered detail beside the covered detail. If the product identifier, panel thickness, facing, joint or installation is missing or different, identify the exact field and ask for clarification. Record the supplier’s answer and the reviewer’s response with the same drawing revision. “Document received” and “review completed” are separate statuses; an unanswered row remains open. This is a document-control exercise, not a judgement that either panel passes or fails.
Enquiry information
- Project location and intended panel use
- Project reviewer and required evidence
- Offered manufacturer and product identifier
- Core, facings, panel thickness and joint drawing
- Claimed performance and applicable standard/version
- Report number, issuer and issue date
- Report product/configuration and application limits
- Installation drawing and proposed variations
- Missing documents or unresolved mismatches
- Reviewer response and order-document revision
Attach the relevant report and panel drawing, or mark them To confirm. Please do not replace missing evidence with a stock photograph or a supplier catalogue rating.
