Dimension & Area Unit Converter

Convert drawing dimensions and measured areas before preparing a panel, floor deck or purlin enquiry.

Use a decimal point (.), without grouping separators or fractions. Example: 0.5.

Area

Results show up to 12 significant digits and may use scientific notation. Keep the original drawing value, unit and tolerance alongside the converted value; conversion does not increase measurement accuracy.

Use the result in your enquiry

  • State whether a dimension is overall width, effective coverage width, panel thickness or metal-face thickness.
  • Keep drawing revisions, tolerances, cut lengths and quantities with their original units.
  • An area conversion does not calculate panel quantities, laps, waste or structural capacity.

Conversion basis

  • 1 in = 25.4 mm
  • 1 ft = 0.3048 m
  • 1 ft² = 0.09290304 m²

The foot used here is the international foot, not the U.S. survey foot. Area conversion uses the squared length factor.
