Kazakhstan's application to join PIC/S is confirmed as complete
On 3-4 November 2025, the PIC/S Committee confirmed that Kazakhstan's application for membership was complete. PIC/S announced this on 10 February 2026 and said a Rapporteur and a Co-Rapporteur were then appointed.

What PIC/S reported
The Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme, known as PIC/S, posted the news from Geneva on 10 February 2026. Two Kazakh bodies applied on 20 March 2025. One is the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Healthcare. The other is the National Centre for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices, which operates under that Committee.
The Committee met in Hong Kong on 3-4 November 2025. It confirmed the request as complete. After that, PIC/S appointed a Rapporteur and a Co-Rapporteur.
What the notice does not say
The notice does not say that Kazakhstan has been admitted. It gives no decision date and no inspection schedule. It names no change to any rule for manufacturers. Treat it as a first step in a process whose length PIC/S has not stated.

What a facility owner should check next
Ask your regulator in writing which GMP rules apply to your licence today. Do not assume the PIC/S guide applies until the authority says so.
Then make your cleanroom design file easy to read against the PIC/S GMP Guide. That means your user requirements, room classification reports and qualification records. PIC/S put out version PE 009-18 of its guide on 23 September 2026, in force from 24 September 2026. On 28 October 2026 it also issued PI 058-1, an interpretation of Annex 1 on sterile products. Both are worth reading if you plan sterile rooms.
PIC/S reported a similar first step for the United Arab Emirates on 28 July 2026. It said a Rapporteur was appointed on 15 July 2026 for the pre-accession application of the Emirates Drug Establishment, which PIC/S received on 5 March 2026.
